Here's another WTR fanfic I'm writing. I have done more on this one than I have on "Once In A Lifetime." I hope you like this on as you like my other one!! Enjoy Reading. P.S. if you have any suggestions on a title I'd be happy to hear what they are! Thanks!!!
Part 1
Saturday night at C.D.'s Bar and Grill was busy. "It looks like you're really busy Big Dog," said Trivette as he sat at the bar. "Yeah. This place sure has picked up recently. I'm really happy about how this place has done over the years. I'm glad of thinking up this place. Well, I got customers to serve. You just help yourself to anything you want," said C.D. as he left Trivette.
Half an hour later Walker walked in. "Hey Walker," said Trivette as he stood behind the bar. "Hey Trivette. I didn't see your car outside," said Walker as he went behind the bar to get himself some coffee. "Yeah. I took a cab here. My car broke down this morning. Do you mind giveing me a ride home when you go," asked Trivette. "No. I don't mind. I don't have anything planned later tonight," said Walker as he went back to his seat.
"You and Alex don't have anything planned for tonight? I'm shocked," said Trivette. "No. Me and Alex have no plans for later tonight. Alex has been wokring on a case and his worn her out," said Walker. "Is it the Johnston case," asked Trivette. Walker nodded his head. "Yeah. Johnston's lawyer is trying to pull a lot of tricks, but you know Alex, She's not going to give up easily," said Walker as he drank his coffee.
A couple of hours later Walker and Trivette headed out the door. "How long has that case been going on," asked Trivette as he got in Walker's truck. "Almost a month. The judge keeps postponing it. Alex is hoping to start the actual trial soon. This Johnston guy has the best defense lawyer in Dallas," said Walker as he started leaving C.D.'s place.
"He sounds familiar. What was he charged with," asked Trivette as he glanced over at Walker. "He was charged with the murders of high-ranking officers," said Walker non-chalantly. "You sound like you've had run-ins with him before," said Trivette as he glanced over at Walker again. "Yeah. I have had a few run-ins with him. I've busted him a few times in the pasts. He's threatened to kill me everytime I've busted him. "As a matter-of-fact that's why Alex has this case. I caught him selliing guns and things," said Walker as he stopped at a light.
As the light turned green and Walker started foward, a car came from the left and hit Walker's truck with so much force that it spun it aroundand ended up hitting a tree on Walker's side of the truck. Walker was unconcoinesss from the impact of the crash. Trivette was awake and alert. He radioed for help and told the operator to hurry up because of Walker being unconcoiness.
Fifteen minutes later medics were there. They got Trivette out easily. but with Walker it was more difficult. They had to use the jaws of life to get him out. When they got him out they loaded him up into the helicopter and sent him to Methodist Hospital. He had a severe concussion and bruised vertabrae. The doctors didn't know if he would walk again or not. They wouldn't know anything until they got results back from tests and when Walker woke up.
Meanwhile Alex was walking through the doors of Company B when she heard a call come in about two rangers involved in a crash. The call didn't say who the Rangers were. Alex looked over at Walker and Trivette's desks and saw that they weren't there. She suddenly got a bad feeling. She ran out of Company B to her office to see if she could get Walker or Trivette.

Part 2
At Methodist Hospital, Trivette was asking about Walker. "Ranger Walker is lucky to be alive from a hit like that. He's got a severe concussion and some swelling around his spinal cord," said Dr. Matthews. "Are you saying he won't walk again," asked Trivette in shock. "That's a possibility, but it could be temporary. We won't know anything until he wakes up," said Dr. Matthews.
When Alex got back to her office she called Walker's cellphone, but didn't get an answer. She then tried Trivette's cellphone. "Ranger Trivette," said Trivette in some pain. "Jimmy. It's Alex. Where are you," asked Alex in a panic. "Me and Walker were in an accident. I'm fine, but Walker is pretty bad. He's go a severe concussion and swelling around his spinal cord," said Trivette.
While Trivette was talking to Alex, Walker was waking up. He looked around the room as best as he could. He could only move his eyes because he had a neck brace on. A nurse saw that he was awake as she came into the room. She left and came back with the doctor. "It's good to see you awake Ranger Walker. I'm Dr. Matthews. I'll be looking over you while you are here," said Dr. Matthews. "How is my partner? His name is Ranger Trivette," said Walker in a weak voice. "He's fine. He's got some bruising, but that's all. I'm more concerned with your injuries though, said Dr. Matthews as she sat down in a chair.
"Are you telling me that Walker may never walk again," asked Alex as she tried to hold back the tears. "The doctor told me that was a possibility, but that the swelling could be temporary," said Trivette. "Have you seen Walker yet," asked Alex. "No, but I hear he's awake. I hope I get to see him," said Trivette. "That's good that he's awake. I'm on my way now. I'll talk to you when I get to the hospital," said Alex.
"How bad are my injuries," asked Walker. "You've suffered a severe concussion and you have some swelling around your vertabrae. We won't know if you'll be able to walk until the swelling goes down," said Dr. Matthews. "You mean there's a possibility that I might not walk again," asked Walker in disbelief. "Yes. There is that possibility, but we won't know until the swelling goes down," said Dr. Matthews. "And if the swelling doesn't go down," asked Walker. "Then you will be paralyzed from the waist down," said Dr. Matthews.

Part 3
A few minutes later Alex arrived at the hospital. "I'm looking for Ranger Trivette's room," said Alex as she walked up to the nurses station. "He's in room 102," said once of the nurses. So Alex went to Trivette's room. "Hey Jimmy. How are you," asked Alex as she entered the room. "I'm doing alright. I'm just a little bruised is all," said Trivette. "I'm happy to hear that. I'm going to check on Walker now. I'll be back in a few minutes," said Alex.
As Alex walked up to the door of Walker's room she overheard some of the conversation. "If the swelling doesn't go down then what do I do," asked Walker. "You'll go into a home to learn to cope with being in a wheelchair, do some physical therapy, and then at the end of each month they will see if you've gotten any feeling back," said Dr. Matthews. "How long does it usually take for the swelling to go down," asked Walker. "About four to five days. If the swelling hasn't gone down by then you'll be put into a home," said Dr. Matthews.
Alex was shocked at what the doctor had told Walker. She knocked on the door before she entered. "Hi. I hope I'm not interrupting anything," said Alex as she walked up to Walker's bedside. "Did you hear what the doctor said," asked Walker. "Yes. I heard what the doctor said. Are you sure you want to do this," asked Alex. "I'd rather be at my ranch, but if going to a home will help me, then yes, I'm sure I want to do this," said Walker.
A week later Walker was getting settled into a home. "Hi. My name is Keith. I'll be your therapist while you are here," said Keith. "Hi. It's nice to meet you. I'm Walker. How long have you been working here," asked Walker. "About ten years now. I was in a wheelchair once until I came here and got help," said Keith. "So you decided to get a job here to help other people in wheelchairs," asked Walker. "Yeah. I thought of it as my way of giving back to the community," said Keith.
Early the next morning Keith came to get Walker for therapy. "Are you ready to get started," asked Keith. "Yeah. I guess I'm ready," said Walker as he got in his wheelchair. "How long did it take you to get use to being in a wheelchair,' asked Walker as they head for the therapy room. "It took me a while before I realized that I needed to stop feeling sorry for myself," said Keith as he and Walker went into the therapy room.

Part 4
When Walker got ready he headed for the mats. "I'm going to start you off with some simple leg exercises. After we warm up with those then we'll get into the pool and do some leg strengthening exercises," said Keith as he helped Walker onto the mats. They started off with some easy stuff, but then the exercises started getting harder.
"I can't do this anymore," said Walker as he rested against the wall. "You can't give up now. We've only just begun," said Keith. "I can't do this. It's too much for me. I want to go back to my room now," said Walker. "Come on. Don't give up now. We only have the pool exercises left," said Keith. "I don't care about the pool exercises. I just want to go back to my room please," said Walker as he crawled towards his wheelchair and tried to climb up in it.
"Why are you giving up so easily," asked Keith as he stood behind Walker's wheelchair. "I told you why I'm giving up. I can't do this. It's too much for me," said Walker as he fell back for the second time while trying to get in his wheelchair. "That's not a good enough reason to give up. Get back on the mats," said Keith.
Walker looked up and glared at Keith. "I refuse to get back on the mats. I'm going to my room," said Walker as he tried again to get up in his wheelchair. "Didn't you say that five minutes ago," asked Ketih sarcasticly. "I don't have to take that from you," said Walker angerliy. "You're right. You don't. If you want a chance at walking again get on the mats," said Keith.
Walker looked up at Keith again. He looked at Keith for a few minutes before he crawled back to the mats. "So are you tready to give the pool a try," said Keith. "Yeah. Let's do it," said Ketih as he positioned himself near the pool. Keith helped Walker into the pool. Ketih started Walker off with a few simple leg exercises. "It want to thank you for not giving up on me. I know I can be stubborn sometimes," said Walker.
A few months later Walker was in his room getting ready for therapy that day when he lost his balance and fell off his bed on the floor. He tried a few times to get in his wheelchair, but each time he would end up on the floor again. He was so frustrated that he had pushed his wheelchair half an inch away from himself with his legs.

Whoa. In part 2, where she was like.. "Jimmy, This is Alex. Where are you?" &how she wasn't sure whether or not it was Walker/Trivette that got in the wreck.
Bo, that is the EXACT same thing my grandma did when Wendy got killed. We weren't sure if it was them who got in the wreck or not. So my grandmother called her cell phone &was like "Alice. This is Margaret. Where are you?"
When I read that, it was WORD FOR WORD. That tripped me out like WHOA!

sorry it's been a long time since i updated this story....i was out of town for a few days, but i'm here now!!! ;D
part 5
"I moved my legs! I actually moved my legs," said Walker with excitement. He pushed the call button and waited until Keith came to help him up. He was so excited about moving his legs that he had tears in his eyes. "Is something wrong," asked Keith as he walked into the room. Walker looked up at Keith with a big smile on his face. "I moved my legs! I was so frustrated with aflling off my bed that I pushed my wheelchair with my legs," said Walker.
The rest of the time Walker was there he worked extra hard on strengthening his legs. "What's wrong," asked Keith as he saw that Walker had stopped exercising. "It's nothing," said Walker as he stared down at his feet. "I can tell something is wrong. What is it," asked Keith. "I don't want to leave this place. I feel safe here. I feel if I go back to the real world that people will reject me," said Walker. "You're friends won't reject you," said Keith. "I know they won't. I'm not worried about them rejecting me. I'm worried about other people rejecting me," said Walker.
Meanwhile Alex and the others were at C.D.'s Bar and Grill. "Today Walker finishes his therapy. I'm so happy he'll be home," said Alex. "We're all happy to hear that honey" said C.D. "Yeah. I can't wait to see Walker again. The guy the captain partnered me with has been getting on my nerves," said Trivette. "Yeah. That guy thinks he's better than Walker," said Gage. "This guy you're talking about sounds like a real jerk," said C.D. "He is a jerk. "He's never met Walker and he thinks he's better than him," said Sydney as she threw a dart.
"You shouldn't worry about what other people say about you," said Keith. "Yeah. I know, but I can't but wonder what other people will think of me when they see me for the first time since the accident," said Walker as he was doing exercises on the Total Gym. "I know how you feel. I felt the same way when I first went home. I was nervous about what my family and friends would think of me when they saw me. I had nothing to worry about. My friends and family were happy to see me home at last," said Keith.

part 6
An hour later Walker was on his way to see the others. Keith was riding along with Walker so that he could meet his friends. "You'll like my friends. They're really great. We're more like family really," said Walker. "That's good. How long have you been married," asked Keith as he pointed towards Walker wedding band. "About six months. It's funny how we met. I was testifying in a case against seven guys. Alex didn't believe that I aressted all seven guys by myself. She said I was rud and mule-headed," said Walker with a laugh. "How long ago was that," asked Keith. "It was eight years ago," said Walker.
Soon Walker and Keith arrived at C.D.'s Bar and Grill. "It seems like everyone is here," said Walker with a sigh. "Are you ready to go in," asked Keith. "Yeah. I'm ready. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when I go in," said Walker with a smile on his face. Walker and Keith headed towards the doors.
"Hey guys," said Walker as he and Keith walked up to C.D. and the others. "Oh my Lord! Cordell. You're walking again," said C.D. with excitement. "Walker," shouted Alex and the others. "Hey. Missed me," said Walker as he wrapped his arm around Alex. "Of course we missed you," said Alex. "I want all of you to meet someone. This is Keith. He was my therapist the last four months," said Walker with a smile.
"Hi. It's nice to meet all of you," said Keith. "It's nice meeting you too. My name is Alex Cahill-Walker," said Alex. "So you're the woman that Walker told me about," said Keith. "How much did he tell," asked Alex. "He told me how you met. I thought it was really neat how you two met," said Keith. "What else did he tell you," asked Trivette. "I take it you're Trivette," said Keith. "Yes," said Trivette. "He told me how you two became partners," said Keith.
After a few hours Keith got ready to go. "It was nice meeting all of you. I hope to see all of you again," said Keith as he got up to go. "It was nice meeting you too. Take care, " said Alex. "I will. Take care Walker," said Keith. "I will. Thanks for putting up with me," said Walker as he watched Keith leave. "Keith's a great person," said Trivette. "Yeah. He sure is. He stuck by me even when I tried to push him away. He helped me through some tough times," said Walker as he drank his coffee.
A week later a guy dressed in a white t-shirt, jeans, boots, and a leather jacket came into C.D.'s. "Hi sir. What can I get for you," asked C.D. as he approached the man. "Hi. I would like a beer and a sandwich," said the man in an Austrailan accent. "Okay. What kind of sandwich do you want," asked C.D. "Ham and Cheese sandwich will be fine," said the man.
C.D. couldn't get over the man's accent. He knew he wasn't from the U.S. "May I ask you something," asked C.D. as he handed the man a beer and a sandwich. "Sure," said the man. "You're not from around her, are ya," asked C.D. "No. I'm not. I'm originally from New Zealand. I moved to America about twelve years ago," said the man. "Oh wow. What's your name? If you don't mind me asking all these questions," said C.D. "My name's Keith Urban," said Keith.
To say that C.D. was shocked would be an understatement. "You're Keith Urban like the country singer," asked C.D. shocked. "Yes. That's me. I came here to perform at this place. Do you know who the owner of this fine place is," asked Keith. "You're lookin' at 'em. My name's C.D. Parker," said C.D. as he shook Keith's hand. "It's nice to meet you C.D. This is a great place. The food is good too," said Keith as he took another bite of his sandwich.
An hour later Walker and Alex entered C.D.'s place. "Hey C.D.," said Alex as she and Walker sat at the bar. "Hey you two. What would you like today," asked C.D. "Just a salad for me," said Alex. "And for you Cordell," asked C.D. as he looked in Walker's direction. He noticed there was something bothering him. "Cordell. What's wrong son," asked C.D. "A kid died in my arms just a couple of hours ago. He was just a kid. I killed the man who killed that kid," said Walker dejectedly.

Part 7
Alex and C.D. could tell that the incident really bothered Walker. "It'll be okay Cordell. You'll see," said C.D. as he patted Walker on his shoulder. "No. It won't be okay. I killed a man. A little boy died becuase I didn't get there in time," said Walker as he tired to hold back the tears. Keith had overheard the conversation and went over to where Walker and the others were. "Hi. I couldn't help but overhear your conversation. I think I know a song that might make you feel better," said Keith as he went up to the stage, pulled out his guitar, and started singing.
We all drink to forget Some of us more than most When reality gets too real And the fires of hell too close But I'm here to let you know that you can make it through If you believe that someone's watchin' over you
Chorus: Call it an angel Call it an muse And call it karma that you've comin' to you What's the difference What's in a name What matter most is never ever losin' faith 'Cause it's gonna be alright You're not alone tonight
We all have our days When nothing goes as planned Not a soul in the world Seems to understand And for someone to talk to You'd give anything Well go on and cry out loud 'Cause someone's listenin'
Chorus: Call it an angel Call it an muse And call it karma that you've comin' to you What's the difference What's in a name What matter most is never ever losin' faith 'Cause it's gonna be alright You're not alone tonight
Keep your faith alive You're not the only one
Chorus: Call it an angel Call it an muse And call it karma that you've comin' to you What's the difference What's in a name What matter most is never ever losin' faith 'Cause it's gonna be alright You're not alone tonight
Oh you can cry if you want to, go on
As Keith sang; Walker, Alex, and C.D. listened to the words to the song. Walker was really listening to the words. "That song is so true. I'm not alone. There's always someone I can talk to," thought Walker as the song ended. "Wow! That's a great song," said Alex. "Thank you. It's called 'You're Not Alone Tonight'. It's a song from one of my CD's," said Keith. "I thought I knew that song from somewhere. Oh my Lord! You're Keith Urban," said Alex in shock. "Yes ma'am. I am Keith Urban. What's your name," asked Keith. "My name is Alex Cahill-Walker. I'm an Assistant District Attroney. This is my husband Cordell Walker. He's a Texas Ranger, " said Alex. "It's nice to meet you. C.D. told me some things about you," said Keith.
Five minutes later Trivette, Gage, and Sydney came in. "Hey man. How are you," asked Trivette as he sat down beside Walker. "I'm okay now," said Walker. "That's good. I was worried about you after you left in such a hurry," said Trivette. "Yeah. I couldn't stand being there any longer. I had to leave," said Walker. "Well, let's talk about something more cheerful please," said Sydney. "I don't think I've seen you in here before," said Gage as he looked at Keith. "I've been in here for just an hour or so," said Keith.
Sydney looked over at Alex and whispered to her. "Is that who I think it is," asked Sydney. "Yep. That's Keith Urban. I can't believe he's here in C.D.'s! This is too cool," said Alex in a whispered voice. "I know. Should I go up to him and introduce myself," asked Sydney. "Yes! He's really down to Earth," said Alex. "Okay. Here goes nothing," said Sydney as she walked over towards Gage and Keith.
"I didn't mean it like that. I meant you're from another country," said Gage. "No. I'm not from here. I'm from New Zealand. My name's Keith Urban," said Keith. "Nice to meet you. My name's Gage. I'm a Texas Ranger," said Gage. "That's aussome. How long have you been a Ranger, " asked Keith. "About two years now," said Gage. "That's cool," said Keith. "Hey guys. I hope I'm not interrupting anything," said Sydney as she walked up to where Keith and Gage were.
Keith and Gage looked up at Sydney when they heard her voice. "No. You're not interrupting anything. What's your name," asked Keith. "My name is Sydney, but you can call me Syd," said Sydney as she sat down. "That's a nice name. I take it you know who I am," said Keith. "Yeah. When I heard you talk I thought it was you. I have all of your cds so far," said Sydney with a smile.
Just then Keith's cellphone rang. "Hello? Hey! Yeah. I'm alright. I'm at C.D.'s Bar and Grill. It's a really nice place. I've met some great people. Four people are Texas Rangers and another person is an Assistant District Attroney. You should come here and meet them. They're all really good people. Oh, I also met the owner of the bar. He's really nice too. You're coming? great! Love you too. Bye mum," said Keith as he hung up the phone. He then turns his attention back to Sydney.
An hour later Keith's parents entered C.D.'s place. "Hey mum. Hey dad," said Keith as he walked up to them. "I want you two to meet some new friends of mine," said Keith as he walked back to the bar. "Mum. Dad. This is the owner of this place, C.D. Parker. This is Ranger Walker and his wife Alex Cahill-Walker. She's the Assistant District Attroney. This is Walker's friend and partner Ranger Trivette. And these two are Rangers Gage and Sydney," said Keith.
"It's nice to meet all of you. I'm Marienne. This is my husband Bob," said Marienne as she wrapped her arm around Bob's waist. "Hi. It's nice to meet ya'll," said Bob. Keith laughed. "We've been in Nashville way too long," said Keith. Everyone laughed at that.
Soon everyone started to leave. "Walker. Before you go I have a question. Do you know any place I can workout," asked Keith. "Yeah. The Rangers have a gym we use sometimes," said Walker. "Okay. Can you show me where it is," asked Keith. "Sure. I'm headed back to Ranger Headquarters for a few minutes anyways," said Walker as he and the other headed out the doors.

Part 8
Thirty minutes later they were at Ranger Headquarters. "While all of you show Keith to the gym, I'm going to my office. I'll see you later Cowboy," said Alex as she kissed Walker. "See ya," said Walker. "That's ture love," said Keith. "Yeah it is. They've been through a lot over the years. Alex has been kidnapped so many times. Walker has been shot a few times, attacked by a bear, kidnapped, in a coma, poisioned tiwce, lost his memory, hurt his hand while riding a bull, pushed into cold water while hurt, and I think that's it," said Trivette. "Wow! That's a lot of hospital visits," said Keith.
Walker looked behind him to see what was taking Trivette and Keith so long to catch up to him. He saw that they were talking about something. "Trivette. Will you come on? I'm sure Ketih doesn't want to hear any boring stories," teased Walker. "Ha ha! I was just telling Keith how much you and Alex have been through all these years," said Trivette. "Weve' definitely been through a lot over the years. Anyways, we made it to the gym," said Walker.
After Walker and Trivette showed Keith to the gym they went to the office. Keith and his parents went back to the hotel to unpack their things. "Walker and his friends seem really nice," said Marienne. "Yeah. They're really nice people. Alex and Sydney went crazy when they saw me. It was great," said Keith with a laugh.
When they had most of the stuff unpacked Keith decided to go for a ride on one of his motorcycles. "You want to go for a ride Mum," said Keith as he grabbed his helmet. "No. You go right ahead. Me and your father are going to relax for a bit," said Marienne. "Okay. I'll be back in a couple of hours," said Keith as he headed out.
As Keith was driving along he saw Walker and Trivette coming out of the Justice Building. "Hey Keith. I thought you would be resting up after traveling so much," said Walker as he and Trivette walked up to Keith. "Nah. I got too much energy to be resting," said Keith. "I know a way to burn some of your energy if you want to," said Walker. "Oh no. You don't want to know what Walker has in store for you to burn some of your energy," said Trivette.
Keith looked at Walker suspiciously. "What is he talking about," asked Keith. Walker laughed. "I was just thinking how would you like to work off some of your energy," said Walker. "Sure. Sounds fun," said Keith. "You sure you want to do that," asked Trivette. "Yes. I'm very sure," said Keith. So Walker, Trivette, and Keith went to the gym.
"What kind of workout did you have planned," asked Keith as he headed towards the locker rooms. "Well, I thought we could warm up doing some exercises on the Total Gym then we'd spar some in the ring," said Walker. "You're kidding. Aren't you," asked Keith. Walker just gave a small chuckle and patted Keith on the shoulder as he walked by him. Keith looked up at Trivette. "He's joking, right," asked Keith. "Nope. Afraid not," said Trivette.
Syd and Gage were walking down the hall to Company B when they see Alex running into the women's bathroom. "I'll go check on her," said Sydney as she headed towards the bathroom. "Walker is still here. Do you think I should get him," asked Gage. "I guess it couldn't hurt," said Sydney as she went to check on Alex. Gage went to get Walker.
"Alex. Are you okay? Gage and I saw you running in here," asked Sydney as she stood outside one of the bathroom stalls. "I'm okay now. I don't know what made me sick. I was fine last night and when I got up this morning. Did you get in touch with Walker," asked Alex as she splashed some water on her face. "Gage went to find him. He's still here," said Sydney.
A few minutes later there was a knock on the women's bathroom door. "Alex. Are you okay," asked Walker as he stood outside the door. "Walker. It's Syd. Alex went back in one of the stalls," said Syd. "Is she okay," asked Walker with concern. "She's fine. She's just a little sick," said Sydney.
Thirty minutes later Alex was walking out of the women's bathroom with Sydney behind her. Walker was immediately at her side. "Alex. You okay," asked Waker as he put his arm around her shoulders. "Yeah. I think I am, but I'd like to go home anyways," said Alex. "Okay. I'll take you home," said Walker ashe walked her to his truck.
When Walker got Alex home she headed straight to the bathroom. Walker was right behind her. "Alex. Are you okay honey," asked Walker with concern. The only answer he got was the sound of Alex throwing up some more. Walker walked into the bathroom, grabbed a washcloth, wetted it, and placed it on Alex's forehead. She glanced up at Walker with a smile. "Thank you," said Alex with a whisper. "You're welcome. Come on. Let's get you into bed," said Walker as he helped Alex up.
"I'm sorry about all of this Walker. Syd told me you were in the gym with Keith," said Alex. "Yeah. I was working out with Keith. I was helping him workoff some of his energy," said Walker as he massaged Alex's back. "That feels good," said Alex with a sigh. "Good. I'm glad you like it," said Walker. "You don't have to stay here. I'll be fine by myself if you want to hang out with Keith and Trivette," said Alex as she started to fall asleep.
As soon as Alex was sleep, Walker called Sydney and Gage. "Ranger Cooke," said Sydney as she answered her phone. "Syd. It's Walker. I was wondering if you, Gage, and Trivette could hold down the fort for a few days. I want to be sure Alex is okay," said Walker. "Sure. No problem. You just concentrate on taking care of Alex," said Syd. "Thanks. Another thing I need you to do is tell Keith I'm sorry I didn't get to workoff some of his energy," said Walker. "Sure thing. If you need anything don't hesitate to call," said Syd as Gage and Trivetee came through the doors.
"Was that Walker," asked Gage as he and Trivette walked up to Sydney. "Yeah. He's going to stay home with Alex for a few days to make sure she's alright," said Sydney. "So he wants us to hold down the fort until he comes back," said Gage. "Yep. Ever since Walker married Alex he's been very protective of her," said Sydney. "Yeah. I noticed the same thing. He is very protective of Alex. That's definitely true love," said Gage.
When Alex woke up and saw that Walker wasn't in the room she started to panic. She got up and headed towards the stairs calling Walker's name. Walker was by her side within seconds. As soon as Walker came up to her Alex put her arms around his neck like she was afraid to let go. "Alex. What's wrong honey," asked Walker as he walked be back to their bedroom. "When I woke up you weren't in the room and I guess I panicked. I'm sorry. I overreacted," said Alex with tears in her eyes.

Part 9
Keith stayed in the gym and worked out after Walker left to take Alex home. "I hope Alex is okay. Maybe I should go and ask Trivette if she's okay," said Keith to himself. After he worked out Keith got dressed back in his street clothes and went in search of Trivette. "Hey Trivette. I was wondering if Alex is alright," said Keith as he walked up to Trivette, Sydney, and Gage.
When Walker saw the tears he reached out to comfort her. Alex felt Walker's hands on her shoulder and jerked away from him. "Don't touch me, " said Alex inbetween sobs. "Alex. What's wrong? Did I do something to upset you," asked Walker with concern. "As if you didn't know! How could you do this to me! Oh God. I'm gonna be sick again," said Alex as she ran into the bathroom again.
"Hey Keith. Yeah. Alex is okay. She's just a little sick is all," said Trivette. "I'm glad nothing serious is wrong with her. With the look on Walker's face you would have thought something really major had happened to her," said Keith. "Alex is everything to Walker. He almost lost her a few times. He promised himself he would never let anything bad happen to her if he can help it," said Trivette.
A few minutes later Alex emerged from the bathroom. "Oh Walker. I'm sorry I yelled at you. Can you forgive me," asked Alex as she started to cry again. "There's nothing to forgive. I know you didn't mean to yell at me. Now will you tell me what I did to upset you," said Walker. "You didn't do anything to upset me. I just overreacted, but I think I know why I've been sick," said Alex. "Why," asked Walker. "Walker. When have you ever known a woman to get sick only in the mornings and be fine the rest of the day," asked Alex, hoping her little hint would hit him. Walker looked at Alex in shock for a moment before speaking. "Alex. Are you telling me you could be pregnant," asked Walker with excitement. "Yes! I'll call the doctor tomorrow and schedule an appointment," said Alex happily.
The rest of the day Walker and Alex spent thinking about when the baby would come, if the baby was going to be a boy or a girl, and what could they name the baby. "Wow! I can't believe I'm going to be a father. I can't wait to hold our child when he or she comes into this world," said Walker as he put his hand on Alex's stomach. Alex looked at Walker and saw the love and happiness he had at the news of becoming a father.
The next morning both Alex and Walker are up early. "Hey Cowboy. What are you up to this morning," asked Alex as she saw Walker come into the room carrying a tray. "I made you breakfast in bed. I hope you like it," said Walker as he sat the tray down on the nightstand. He had fixed eggs, bacon, and sausage for Alex. Alex took one look at the food and ran to the bathroom. "I don't think I'll get use to this," thought Walker as he followed Alex to the bathroom.
"I'm sorry Alex. Is there anything I can get you," asked Walker as he helped Alex into bed. "It's not your fault. It comes with being pregnant. As for what I want is a piece of toast with peanut butter, mustard, and hot sauce," said Alex. "Are you sure that's what you want," asked Walker with a weird look on his face. "Yeah. That's what I want," said Alex. "Okay. I'll be right back with your breakfast," said Walker as he went to fix Alex her breakfast.
"How was your breakfast," asked Walker as he sat on the edge of the of the bed. "It's great. Thank you honey," said Alex as she kissed Walker. "You're welcome. I'm glad I don't have to eat that," said Walker with a disgusted look on his face. Alex just laught at him. "That also comes with being pregnant. Mood swings, morning sickness, and weird food cravings. You'll get use to it. It doesn't last very long," said Alex. "Thank goodness," said Walker with a sigh. "I guess we should call the doctor to confirm it," said Alex.
The next morning Walker took Alex to the doctors. "Hi. I'm Dr. Bates," said Dr. Bates as she shook Walker's hand. "Hi. I'm Ranger Walker," said Walker. "It's nice to meet you. I will be doing the testing to see if Alex is pregnant. If Alex is pregnant I will be overseeing that the pregnancy goes smoothly as possible," said Dr. Bates. "That's good. I want the best if Alex is pregnant," said Walker. Dr. Bates laughed. "Is he always this protective," asked Dr. Bates as she looked in Alex's direction. "Yes. He'll probably be worse if I am pregnant," said Alex as she too laughed at Walker's expense.
An hour later Walker and Alex were back home. "You're probably right about what you said to Dr. Bates. I probably will be more protective if you are pregnant," said Walker as he and Alex sat on the porch swing. "I wouldn't want it any other way. I hope I am pregnant. Our family would be complete with a child of our own," said Alex as she rested her head on Walker's shoulder.
