Okay, I have no clue how many of us there are that are college aged, but I was wondering, who's all in college/ about to begin college &what everyone's planning to do with it.
I'll start - - -
I go to [glow=red,2,300]University of South Carolina -Salkehatchie, East Campus[/glow]. I have no clue what I'm gonna major in, maybe something in the english department (writing, speaking, reading, whatever) or history. I have no clue. I might get into the arts again. I like music, so I may minor in music (piano, xylophone &such). &I also love theatre.
I really have no clue what I'm doing. I also, may go into law after I get my bachelors degree.

I finished my education in June when I got my bachelor in social education. In Norwegian it is called vernepleier. It is kind of hard to explain what that is because they only have this education here in Norway I think. But it is not so different from being a nurse.

I'm majoring in Elementary Education. I'll receive a minor in Leadership also. After I get my degree, I'll probably start working on my Master's Degree in either Elementary Education or Instructional Technology. I'm hoping to teach Kindergarten through 3rd grade.

I'm transferring to Bethel University (in St. Paul, Minnesota) in the fall of 2007 as a junior for a Biochemistry/Molecular Biology major. I took a year of college as a high school senior, so I should technically be a sophomore next year, but that let me get a year ahead. After those two years at Bethel I plan to go onto the doctorate program for pharmacy - probably at South Dakota State University. I want to be a pharmacist! But if that doesn't work out then I plan to go into some kind of research with the National Institutes of Health or the Center for Disease Control & Prevention or something like that. Oh, and I love music too, Ana. I sing & play violin & piano. I mostly use my musical abilities in church, but I've considered minoring in music, too. I'm just not sure what I'd do with that because I don't really think I'd want to be a music teacher.

Somehow I missed your post, Megan! That's awesome that you want to be a photographer. I love photography as well although I'm not too great. I really need to take a class just to learn how to use my camera! I hope you become a celebrity photographer one day!
Wow, Sunnishine! It seems as if you have an amazing future ahead of you. Being a pharmacist or working with the National Institutes of Health or the Center for Disease Control & Prevention would be so much fun! Definitely keep us posted on how your education goes! There are several people here who are musical! I'm sure they'll be interested in talking to you!

Well, I´m going to end high school next year and I have no idea what I´m going to do afterwards. Of course I want to go to Uni, but on the other hand, I don´t want to spend all my teenage years going to school...So, if something interesting appears, I´ll probably miss one year, y´ know, get together my priorities...things like that. I´ve been thinking about it a lot lately. So far, I know which subjects I´m going to take for in my final exam - Czech, English, Math and Civics (probably). My math teacher almost got a heart attack when he found out ;D And then...no idea...I´m probably going to try to pass the entrance exams for International relations, European stuides, Sociology, Politology or Gender Studies together with something technical...I´ve been thinking about health physics or something with computers, but I really have no idea...

Megan - I think it´s a great and interesting job to be a photographer! I´d love to take a course of photography too, but I already have too many courses to take up another one. Maybe next year...
Sunnishine - Molecular Biology must be really interesting! I´ve been thinking about studying biology last year when I went to the Cellular Research Institute (or something like that), but then I realised that I don´t like biology at all and can´t even imagine studying it. I still think it must be interesting though.

Yeah, I love science. Although it's interesting because I used to hate it. But that's because I had awful science teachers up until 10th grade who really didn't teach you anything... I wasn't interested at all in the different kinds of rocks... who cares? I love the DNA testing that I was able to do last year in lab and in my microbiology lab this last semester I was able to determine different diseases from little culture plates by running tons of tests! I thought that was cool. Of course the teacher already knew which diseases we had... and he actually gave me the dangerous one! Streptococcus pneumoniae (a.k.a. pneumonia). Ick! I'm glad I was careful otherwise I could have gotten really sick. Anyway, I had to do lots of dissections this year too which I thought would be totally disgusting but it's actually pretty cool. It's more gross to think about doing it before it happens than the actual experience. But I guess you'd have to do it to believe me! Megan - I totally agree with Tibby about how interesting it would be to be a photographer! I got a new camera in January & I've always loved taking pictures. I love taking pictures of people mostly... I have this huge collage of pictures of friends and family in my bedroom on a bulletin board... it's just a regular-sized bulletin board but it has like 200 pics on it! So I can relate to your interest, although for me it's just a hobby. I'm excited for you, though! Have you been taking pictures for a long time? You're really only in high school, huh? Will you be a junior next year then? Same here (only a junior in college...) That's pretty neat. My sister's the same age (she skipped 8th grade, though so she should be going into 10th grade).

Tibby, how awesome! I don't think I've ever really known what you were thinking about going into. Taking a year off is a great idea. Sociology! That's actually one of my minors. I think international relations would be such a good fit for you. I'm actually interested in it myself.
Sunshine, I completely understand what you were saying about having awful science teachers. I actually didn't even have science until middle school, but even then it wasn't much. Of course, when I got to high school they expected us to know so much more. Even then, we still didn't learn much, and the teachers were definitely lacking. It's a shame that schools focus mainly on math and reading. It's something I want to change in my classroom. It will be hard, but I hope to be able to do it. Oh, I found the DNA lab you were talking about to be so interesting! I would have loved to have done something like that in high school, but in my biology class all we did was draw posters. Would you believe that I never dissected anything?

Kayla, don´t be sad about the dissecting...we had to dissect a cow´s eye this year. I didn´t want to do it, so my teacher just let me watch. Pretty strong experince for somebody who can´t stand the look at meat in the store. lol

Yeah, I probably wouldn't like it too much. It's just that most people have to do it at some point, but schools lack so much sometimes.

This year I had to dissect a fetal pig in January & then from February- April I was dissecting a cat... sad... my cat seriously looked like it had been run over by a car though when I got it. Then in May I had to dissect a sheep brain & an ox eye. Interesting...
