whoa? it's safe in norway but not america. i'm confuzzled. i rode the VRE into washington dc last month from manassas virginia, &jenny (WalkerandAlex4life) was with me... &i think neither of us had any safety issues.
although this little group of dancing girls were loud as crap &annoying. but i mean.... no safety issues.
what am i missing?

That's awesome, Sniffen. In the US, the big cities have public transportation like cabs, buses, trains, etc. A lot of times people who live in those areas don't own cars or even have driver's license because of the traffic. In small towns, you basically have to own a car because it's your only way of getting around unless you walk. Hardly ever do I see people walking around, at least where I live. I'd much rather be in a car. It's dangerous to walk on roads because of the cars that are travelling, along with other reasons.

Hmmm...can`t answer that question for you because I have never been in US and I am not familiar with how things works there. I am only telling you how things are here in Norway.

I just said that it wasn't the safest thing to walk around in the US to get where you need to go. People don't walk to go to stores, etc.
Sniffen said that she was able to get exercise while going to places. I thought that was neat because I live in the US and where I'm from, driving is how you get around. I don't live in a big city, and I've never used public transportation. I can't say anything about it. I said I thought it would be neat to be able to take cabs, subways, trains. I don't know what it is like in Norway. I guess that I didn't word what I was trying to say correctly. Sorry for the confusion.

I live in a small southern town too, We use our own transportation.
But I've been to big cities, Like, my Aunt lives about an hour from DC. So we rode the Virginia Railway Express into DC. It was a LOT of fun. (I loveee trains) When I was a LOT younger, My grandmother, aunt &I went to Disney World. We rode a taxi somewhere once, I don't remember where. I was like 9. Hmm, &also when I was younger &we used to go to Washington DC a lot, we used to take the METRO &stuff. But I'm not sure that I would now, The metro is, I think, Kayla's idea of it not being safe. It just seemed like..I don't know, like it didn't look too safe.
ALTHOUGH, Up until here recently, Some friends of my mom's owned a taxi service here in Walterboro. It was the ONLY one here. &they had 2 vehicles. You called for your pickup &had to wait on them. But like I said, this is a small town, &it was a good taxi service &a lot of less fortunate people who didn't have cars, appreciated it. But they closed at the end of May because Mike (the head hauncho of it all) is pursuing other things. That man is an entraupanuer that's making mula. LMAO
